A Growing Highly Trained Jacksonville Orthopedic Practice expands with its Third Location in Orange Park
May 12, 2009Orange Park residents often have to drive long distances to get the care they deserve. Great News – Those in need of expert orthopedic care can now find it without having to leave the Orange Park area. Heekin Orthopedic Specialists, Jacksonville’s go-to center for highly trained orthopedic surgeons, is opening an office at 2300 Park Ave, just 1 mile south of Kingsley Ave.
“We felt there was a need here” says Dr. Rahul Deshmukh. Specializing in Sports Medicine and Total Joints, Dr. Deshmukh realizes there is a sense of urgency to some orthopedic conditions and driving long distances for care can be very inconvenient. The new office is located in the St. Vincent’s Orange Park Health Center, a large medical complex home to several other medical specialties, adding to the convenience for patients.
The Orange Park area schools also had a need for orthopedic oversight of their team sports, especially football. Kevin Murphy MD is helping to jumpstart the effort by offering free sports physicals to students in Clay County. Dr. Murphy is currently the Team Physician for three high schools in the Jacksonville area.
Dr. Georgia Gill, one of Heekin Orthopedic Specialist’s newest hand surgeons, is excited about serving the needs of Orange Park. “I think our patients will enjoy the ease of having a team of experts in their own neighborhood”.
Heekin Orthopedic Specialists is a six physician practice specializing in Total Joint Replacement, Hand Surgery, Sports Medicine, and Arthroscopy. All Heekin Physicians are fellowship-trained in their specialties and see patients from their three Jacksonville area locations: Riverside, Southside and now, Orange Park. An extremely distinguished group, Heekin Orthopedic Specialists is the only multispecialty Orthopedics group in Northeast Florida that consists of only fellowship-trained surgeons.
The Orange Park location is located at 2300 Park Ave. Orange Park, FL 32073 and will open mid-June.
