Heekin Orthopedic Specialists Applauds Appointments of Two Extraordinary Surgeons
May 20, 2008Since the initial opening of the Heekin Orthopedics (formerly Heekin-Deshmukh Orthopedics) office in the historic Five Points area seven years ago, the practice has seen enormous growth with the addition of four additional fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeons, two locations, an exceptional physical therapy department, and a thirty-fold increase in patients.
Adding to their success, two Heekin Orthopedic Specialists surgeons have received appointments at area hospitals that are indicative of the level of expertise the growing practice stands for. Founding father Dr. R David Heekin has been appointed Medical Director of St. Vincent’s Center of Orthopedic Excellence and Dr. Rahul Deshmukh has been selected as Chief of Orthopedics at St. Luke’s Hospital.
In addition to this news, the practice recently relocated their Riverside Office to a new location right across from St. Vincent’s Medical Center inside the Family Medicine Building at 2627 Riverside Ave. The new 4500 square foot location encompasses the entire third floor and includes a state-of-the art Physical Therapy Department. The Southside office is also located convenient to St. Luke’s Hospital in the new CenterOne building, adjacent to the doctor owned and operated CenterOne Surgery Center.
