As a former athlete, and the father of a high school athlete, Dr. Kevin Murphy knows how important the prevention and early assessment of sports injuries can be.
As an orthopedic surgeon specializing in medicine, Dr. Murphy wanted to help treat the seemingly minor injuries on the field that turn into bigger pains Saturday morning.
Early assessment of some injuries can lead to a more aggressive treatment plan and a quicker recovery.
So Dr. Murphy holds a free Saturday “Bumps n' Bruises” clinic, in Clay and St. Johns Counties for student athletes.
Dr. Murphy will provide free injury evaluations and therapy suggestions. While the clinic is designed for student athletes, it also helps provide worried parents some peace of mind.
